Men and women choose watches differently. Men would typically think about automatic watches or the craftsmanship that goes with it. For women? They tend to think about how fashionable a watch is and that’s about it.
It is important that when talking about watch trends, that you have to consider the watch that is involved here. If you are going to talk about men’s watches, they have their own trends and the same goes for women’s watches as well.
Today, I will talk about some of the trends in women’s watches to watch out for this year.
Veer Away from the Stereotype
When you think about women’s watches, what usually comes to your mind? I am pretty sure that you are thinking about watches that come with jewels and other embellishments. Well, that is partly true and that is also the reason why women opt for men’s watches instead.
You see, although all of those embellishments look good on the surface, there is some value in a simple timepiece. That is even more so if you want your watch to just be a nice accessory that will complement the other things that you are wearing.
Go for Vintage
More and more watches nowadays are oversized and although they are quite trendy, not a lot of women love the aesthetic. That is also precisely the reason why most women who have the knack for style would opt for vintage watches, specifically, those that still don a small exterior.
The Year of ‘Steel’
Aside from the main watch face, the watch strap is also another important and integral component of a timepiece. Most women would opt for leather straps simply because of its simplicity and elegance but this is the year where women are opting for steel watchbands instead.
True enough, organic searches for rose gold metal watchbands have skyrocketed since the start of the new year.
Oversized Watches Not a Bad Idea
f you ask some women why they do what they do, they will usually tell you that it is for a more practical standpoint. A bigger watch face just allows people to easily and quickly be able to tell the time. I think no one can argue with that.
Keep in mind that although there are also watch trends that govern how people choose watches, trends in women’s watches are almost always divisive. Just take a look at the case of oversized watches.
On one hand, there are women that praise wearing oversized men’s watches over typically watches for women but there are also those that oppose this idea.
So, when choosing a watch for yourself, consider what your needs are over what the current trends dictate.
